
At long last the car park at Mouldon Hill Country Park is open and in use, despite its 2 year plus slippage. Mouldon Hill is a wonderful resource for us, with its lake and other facilities. The car park was supposed to be finished in autumn 2008 (See Mouldon Hill Country Park), but since then deadlines have come and gone, come and gone. It seems now yet another has passed. I'm trying to get an update and will post it here when I do.

Work on the car park for the Mouldon Hill Country Park keeps being delayed, but should be underway in the next few weeks. Future plans for the park were discussed at the last Haydon Wick Parish Council meeting on 18th August, 2009. See below for an extract from the minutes

Nearly 2 years after the initial promise, the open space on the corner of Estella Close and Havisham Drive has been cleared.
I suppose that we now need a little rain for the grass to germinate, Oh no!

The Adoption of Open Spaces was briefly discussed at the Parish Council meeting on June 16th, under a proposal to bring about early adoption of the roads and open spaces by Swindon Council (SBC). This was prompted by the very slow progress over levelling and seeding of the Havisham Drive/Estella Close open space, where promise after promise over the last 18 months, have been broken. This was exasperated by the establishment of a contractor's dumping compound, which rapidly became a fly tipping site, in June. After pressure from SBC and others, this has now been removed.
Following discussions with Cllr Justin Tomlinson and others in the council, I understand that:
